30. In September, on the international translation day, an international project and mobile application Slavic SoundWalking was presented, the result of cooperation of three countries - Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. The app allows users to listen and read short stories in five languages while walking around Ljubljana, Zagreb and Belgrade.
The gathered representatives of the media spoke at the introduction:
- mag. Mateja Demšić, head of the culture department at the Ljubljana Municipality,
- Robert ,lajpah, President of the City Society for the Deaf in Ljubljana,
- Indira Vehbić, secretary and professional worker of the City Society for the Deaf Ljubljana,
- mag. Suzana Tratnik, writer and editor of Slovenian short stories at the project,
- dr. Biljana ultikić, head of the Danilo Kiš Cultural Center.
They highlighted the importance of international, interlingual and intercultural connection and emphasized the importance of translating cultural content into sign language and the availability of culture for vulnerable groups in society. Suzana Tratnik, writer and editor of Slovenian stories in the project, shared her editorial experiences of working on a literary-audio application. Along with Suzana Tratnik, Marina Vujčić (Croatia) and Biljana Srbijanović (Serbia) edited short stories.
Among others, the following Slovenian writers are represented in the audio anthology: Andrej Blatnik, Tanja Božić, Ajda Bračič, Samanta Hadžić ćavski, Luna Jurančič Šribar, Zoran Knežević, Tomaž Kosmač, Adriana Kuči, Mojca Kumerdej, Vesna Lemaić, Davorin Lenko, Jedrt Maležič, Tanja Matijašević, Miha Mazzini, Teja Močnik, Brane Mozetič, Vinko Möderndorfer, Franci Novak, Arjan Pregl, Veronika Simoniti, Selma Skenderović, Nataša Skušek, Ana Svetel, Tina Vrščaj and Zarja Vršič.
After the finished press conference there was a sound walk to Tromostovje, at 13. Sign language workshop was held at 19:00. And now a talk about Alma Bejtullah's monograph "Sounds and movements of diversity" in ZRC SAZU.
With today's day and the opening event, a rich cultural program for the promotion of the mobile literary-sound application is beginning, which will take place between 30. September and 11. in Ljubljana in October.
