The workshop "Story in Poetry, Poetry in Story - Tell and Thus Change Your History" will cover the following topics:
- When and why do we start writing?
- What is a poetic voice?
- In what forms do poets bring their stories?
- Is there a difference today between poetry and prose?
Special attention will be given to questions such as: how to find your own story and give yourself permission to write it? What is the significance of writing for the psychology of the writer? What does Susan Sontag mean when she says "To write is to go to the end"? What can Beckett's statement "To be an artist means to be defeated as no one else dares" teach us in the context of writing poetry?
In addition to the opportunity to discuss these topics, participants will have the chance to start working on their own text through writing exercises. Previous writing experience is not required to participate in the workshop - we encourage those who have never written before to apply. The invitation is open to participants outside of Serbia as well.
