Introducing the Slavic Soundwalking App

Slavic Soundwalking was proudly presented at the Exhibition of Croatian Design 23/24, the most significant showcase of contemporary design in Croatia. This recognition highlights the project’s innovative and inclusive approach to merging literature and sound design, celebrating cultural and linguistic diversity.

The Čkalja exhibition celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miodrag Petrović Čkalja, one of the most beloved comedians of Serbian and Yugoslav cinema. Through photographs, film clips, and personal stories, the exhibition explores Čkalja’s legacy as a symbol of shared cultural heritage that connects the region through laughter and art.

The literary evening at ŠKUC on October 11 brought together authors from Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia, showcasing the richness of Slavic storytelling through readings, discussions, and personal insights. The event, part of the Slavic Soundwalking project, highlighted the transformative power of literature to connect people and offer new perspectives.

We enjoyed the second Slavic Soundwalking literary-sound walk, starting from the Cukrarna, where participants downloaded the app, selected the Slovenian language, and began discovering literary stories around Ljubljana. As part of the Audio Festival in Cukrarna, the Slavic Soundwalking app was presented, featuring insights from app creator Jelena Remetin, actor Saša Tabaković, and radio journalist Dr. Biljana Žikić. Following the presentation, participants joined a Slavic Soundwalking / Literary Sound Walk through the streets of Ljubljana, showcasing the app’s unique blend of literature and sound.
